IADR DMG David C. Watts Award in International Collaboration

Applicants must submit to award contact:
•    Curriculum vitae
•    A statement (1-2 pages) demonstrating strong evidence as a leader in international collaborations with colleagues from different countries or IADR regions/divisions/sections in dental materials. 
•    Two letters of recommendation from researchers who have been international collaborators in projects and publications.
•    A letter of recommendation from an independent researcher who has not been a collaborator.
 

The Award Committee from the Dental Materials Group will review the applications and recommend the awardee based on the following criteria:

• Leadership: Initiating and Establishing Collaborations: Has the applicant taken the lead in initiating and establishing international research collaborations? Have the statements/letters provided a detailed description to prove that the applicant played a central role (leadership) in forming partnerships with researchers from diverse countries, emphasizing their leadership in the research context?
• Collaboration Impact: Outcomes and Relevance. Has the applicant listed/explained the outcomes and relevance of manuscripts, grants, and research projects resulting from the established international collaborations? Do the works describe the applicant's influence in the field, substantiated by roles as a first, corresponding, or co-corresponding author?
• Mentorship and Capacity Building: Support for Exchange and Training. Has the applicant actively supported and facilitated consistent student and staff exchange and training opportunities? What are the outcomes of such exchanges?
• Cross-Disciplinary Impact: Promoting Interdisciplinary Research. Has the applicant demonstrated the ability to promote interdisciplinary research collaborations and bridge dental materials to other fields of knowledge?
